Press Release

Washington, DC – November 18, 2019 – U.S. Representative Mike Doyle (PA-18) released the following statement in response to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai’s announcement earlier today that he would support a public auction of C-Band spectrum administered by the FCC.

“I’m glad that FCC Chairman Pai agrees that a private sale of the C-Band – with the lions share of the $60 billion in proceeds going to a few foreign companies - it was a terrible idea.

“Now it’s critical that Congress move quickly on legislation authorizing a public auction and allocating the proceeds to building out broadband in rural and other unserved/underserved areas, Next Generation 911, and closing the digital divide.”
