Doyle Announces 2019 Congressional App Challenge Winners
Pittsburgh, PA – December 3, 2019 — U.S. Representative Mike Doyle (D-PA) released the following statement announcing the winners of the 2019 Congressional App Challenge in Pennsylvania’s 18th District.
“Congratulations to our winners, Jakob McCloskey, Zoey Clasen, Rebecca Dobosh, and Raven Gorman from Elizabeth-Forward High School. These students designed an app, School Donation System, which helps schools to redistribute and collect gently used supplies to meet their needs. This is an advanced program and a well-implemented idea!
I would also like to recognize three groups from Plum High School – Zachary McPherson, Rudra Thakkar, and Mark Van Orden who designed an app entitled War of Ascension; Lily Klucinec, Joseph Panichella, Justin Piel, and Mark Zarroli who designed an app entitled Definitely Not Gambling; and Alexandria Moreland who designed an app entitled Dragons and Knights.
This is the third year our congressional district has participated in the Congressional App Challenge – and each year, the entries are very impressive. As the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Communications & Technology, I see every day how much our lives rely on the dedication and skill of the next generation of innovators. These students have great potential– and I’m pleased to recognize their hard work.”
