September 10, 2009 – Congressman Doyle talked about health insurance reform – and the 2009 Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins – with President Obama and Congressman Altmire at the White House.

On July 4, 2009, Congressman Doyle attended an Independence Day celebration at Phoenix Park in Dublin hosted by the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Dan Rooney and his wife Patricia.

May 6, 2009 – Congressman Doyle met in front of the Capitol with students from the Cardinal Wright Regional School in Pittsburgh.

April 28, 2009 – Congressman Doyle spoke at a House briefing on current federal and state actions to address autism. Congressman Doyle is a founder and co-chair of the Congressional Autism Caucus.

April 23, 2009 – Congressman Doyle spoke at a House briefing on the status of his legislation to expand the number of low-power FM radio stations that could be licensed by the Federal Communications Commission.

February 4, 2009 – Congressman Doyle listens to testimony before the House Steel Caucus about the Buy American provisions in the economic recovery bill (H.R. 1, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act).

February 1, 2009 – President Obama and the Doyle family celebrate the Pittsburgh Steelers' 27 to 23 victory in Super Bowl XLIII. The Doyles watched the game at the White House as guests of President Obama and his family.
