September 11, 2004 -- Congressman Doyle visited the traveling memorial to the officers of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who died in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. From left to right are Lt. Gene Smith (retired), Pennsylvania State Representative Tony DeLuca, Lt. Chester Weekes (retired), Verona Fire ChiefTom Tihey, Congressman Doyle, and Verona Police Chief Guy Truby. Lieutenants Smith and Weekes are retired from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and travel throughout the country with the traveling memorial.

Congressman Doyle worked with the other members of Allegheny County's congressional delegation to secure this money for the construction of the North Shore Connector, the rehabilitation of the Port Authority's Light Rail Transit system connecting the South Hills with downtown Pittsburgh, and the ongoing modernization of PAT's fleet of buses.  Standing behind Representative Doyle are Representative Melissa Hart, PAT Executive Director Paul Skoutelas, Representative Tim Murphy, and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato.
