Congressman Doyle Commends Choice of Dan Rooney to be U.S. Ambassador to Ireland
 
     

Washington, DC – March 17, 2009 – U.S. Representative Mike Doyle (PA-14) to commended President Obama for nominating Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney to be U.S. Ambassador to Ireland today.
“Dan Rooney is a businessman who’s done more than run a consistently successful professional football team for decades – he’s also a community leader and engaged Irish-American who has spent years behind the scenes working to promote peace, justice, and prosperity in Ireland,” Congressman Doyle observed.  “President Obama made an excellent choice in nominating him to be the next U.S. Ambassador to Ireland.”
“I am confident that he will carry out his responsibilities as Ambassador with the dedication and professionalism that has characterized all of his civic undertakings over the years,” Congressman Doyle added.
